D1 Capital Partners Office Lease in Iconic Solow Building

Daniel Sundheim’s Manhattan-based hedge fund, D1 Capital Partners, has leased 32,300 square feet on the 36th floor of one of the most prestigious trophy buildings in Manhattan, 9 West 57th Street. The company signed a 15-year lease with a 5-year renewal option. The asset is known for its distinctive rectangular architecture and its unobstructed views of Central Park. The majority of the tenant roster includes a variety of financial services firms like Apollo Global Holdings, Och Ziff Management, and Tiger Global Management. While this space is being constructed, D1 is occupying short-term space at 650 Madison Avenue. Jones Lang LaSalle team represented the landlord while a team from Newmark Knight Frank represented the tenant. Although new construction on the west side and downtown has poached a multitude of large tenants, 9 West 57th Street has held onto its allure as one of the most desirable addresses in the city.
